Rodgers neuer Liverpool Trainer

Wie seit Freitag Vormittag feststeht wird Brendan Rodgers Kenny Dalglish im Amt des Liverpool Trainers nachfolgen. Der 39-jährige Nordire, der letztes Jahr Swansea City als ersten walisischen Verein in die Premier League führte und dort heuer den eindrucksvollen 11. Platz holen konnte, beeindruckte vorallem durch den offensiven Spielstil die Liverpool Chefetage. Doch unter den Anhängern ist leise Kritik zu hören, denn Rodgers ist alles andere als ein erfahrener Trainer. Der Nordire begann seine Trainer Karriere als Nachwuchstrainer beim FC Reading, nachdem er mit 20 Jahren verletzungsbedingt seine aktive Karriere beenden musste. Im Jahr 2004 wechselte er in die Nachwuchsabteilung des FC Chelsea, der damals von Real Madrid Trainer Jose Mourinho betreut wurde. Erst 2008 wurde Rodgers erstmals Cheftrainer, er führte den absteigsgefährdeten FC Watford auf den 13. Platz und wurde daraufhin von Reading verpflichtet. Nach einem schlechten Start dort, wurde Rodgers allerdings schon nach 6 Monaten entlassen. Seit 2010 betreute er Swansea City erfolgreich und nun hat er einen drei Jahres Vertrag bei Liverpool unterzeichnet. Jetzt muss Rodgers die Fans hinter sich und den Verein bringen, denn sonst wird es ihm so ergehen wie Roy Hudgson, der nur ein kurzes Intermezzo bei den Reds hatte. Doch Jose Mourinho meldete sich gestern in der Sun zu Rodgers Verpflichtung bei Liverpool. Der Portugiese stärkte seinem ehemaligen Chelsea Kollegen den Rücken und lobte den Nordiren in höchsten Tönen. Auch Liverpool Stürmer Craig Bellamy freute sich über die Entscheidung: “Ich glaube wir haben mit Rodgers den Richtigen, er ist ein netter Kerl, der seine eigene Philosophie hat und in Swansea bewiesen hat was er kann.” Man darf gespannt sein ob Brendan Rodgers auch mit einem großen Club wie Liverpool so erfolgreich sein kann wie zuletzt mit Swansea.
